She was said to be the guardian of the cacao trees and possessed incredible powers. Maria Cacao was a beautiful woman with long flowing hair the color of rich chocolate and eyes that shimmered like cocoa beans. She resided within a massive cacao tree, its branches extending high into the sky. It was believed that she could control the growth and prosperity of the cacao plants, ensuring a bountiful harvest for the people of the land. Farmers and chocolatiers from far and wide would come to pay their respects to Maria Cacao, seeking her blessings and protection. They would leave offerings of cacao beans, flowers, and other gifts at the base of her tree, hoping for her favor.
